Start with an Equipment Health Check

Most Reach clients begin with a brief Equipment Health Check completed by their technician.

This structured check takes only a few minutes and provides a high-level snapshot of how the office’s equipment systems are holding up over time. It helps establish a realistic baseline and highlights patterns related to wear, usage, and predictability.

The Health Check is designed to support clear conversations about equipment trends and examine direction to stable predictable performance.

What the Health Check Helps Identify

The Equipment Health Check looks across key systems, including:

  • Repair frequency and repeat issues

  • Preventive attention history

  • Mechanical room equipment

  • Sterilization systems

  • Operatories

Based on what’s observed, offices are typically categorized into green, yellow, or red ranges, which help indicate overall equipment predictability and provide direction for stability and longevity through proactive service.

How Reach helps with Proactive Service

Reach’s proactive service, Recare, is designed to address the patterns identified during an Equipment Health Check.

It is a planned preventive visit where your technician slows down, goes deeper, and focuses on improving equipment predictability over time. It is like how dental offices schedule regular exams and hygiene visits for patients.

Rather than reacting to problems as they occur, Recare supports a more stable, intentional approach to equipment care.

"If your Reach technician discussed Recare after completing an Equipment Health Check, this short video explains how proactive visits help maintain equipment predictability over time." - Dr. David Wiley

What Happens During a Recare Visit?

During a Recare visit, your technician will:

  • Perform a full inspection of major equipment systems

  • Address small corrective items during the visit

  • Document equipment condition and observations

  • Identify items that may need future attention

  • Plan follow-up aligned with your schedule and priorities

Recare visits are most often completed on a six-month cadence, depending on equipment age, usage, and office needs.

The Next Step

If Recare was discussed during your Equipment Health Check, your Reach technician can explain how a proactive visit fits your office based on what was observed.

Talk with your Reach technician about a direction for equipment stability and predictability.

Every dental office recommends it to their patients. Every manufacturer shares they wouldn't go without it. Preventive Maintenance (PM) that is. The biggest reason is that it has an amazing ROI. cont.
